What is ‘Augmented Reality’?
Augmented reality, generally written as AR, is a real time view of the environment whose elements are augmented by simulated sensual responses such as sound, visuals etc. In other words, it is the combination of digital information and real time physical environment, which uses the existing environment in which user is present and overlays new information on the same. With the help of augmented reality, the information about the surrounding of the user turns into interactive state. Information about the surrounding and substances laying in it is superimposed on the real environment. Augmented reality carries out the components of the virtual world into a perceived real world by the user.
What are the necessary components of AR?
A good kind of computer processor, various sensors for relevant tasks to be performed, digital screen or display and input device like camera, microphone etc. is needed to make AR work. Generally, all these computer essentials are integrated in the smartphones.

Sometimes, the AR device recognizes the words spoken by the user and acts according to it, or in other way, device captures the surrounding with the help of camera attached and converts it in the digital format. along with the speech recognition system, a gesture recognition system is there which captures and analyses the user’s gestures and acts accordingly.

AR has tremendous scope in the education. It can drastically change the mindset of students towards the boring subjects by allowing texts, animations, and videos by superimposing them into real time word. AR technology is used in gaming since it has been introduced to us. This technology allows gamer to feel the world of that specific game.
Along with all these examples, AR can be, or may be already being used in the medical, defense, tourism, space and many more areas.
