Here Are Reasons as to Why You Should Buy Term Insurance

Life is unpredictable, and on the other hand, it’s short too. We always think of something that would make our family financially secure in our absence. Here is where a term insurance comes into the picture. The plan lets you mitigate the financial risks in the most cost-effective manner, and allows the nominee and his family continue living life without compromising their lifestyle. In this article, we look at providing inputs as to why you should buy a term insurance policy.

Term Insurance is a type of life insurance that offers financial cover to the beneficiaries with more significant financial cover at lower premiums rates. There are certain terms of this policy whereby the death benefit payout has to be paid to beneficiaries as soon as the claim is raised. But, if the life insured survives the tenure, he or his family will not receive anything at maturity as term plans do not have any maturity benefits. Recently, a few insurance companies have started paying ‘Return on Premium’ with an extra cost to the premium, which offers a lump-sum amount to the policyholder at maturity. This can be taken as a rider which comes at an additional price due to which the premium may go up slightly.

Following are the key reasons to buy a term insurance policy-

Financial Security- An unfortunate demise of the breadwinner can impact his family, especially when the liabilities are left behind for them. Be it any liability or education or your child; you always wish your family’s financial independence behind you. A Term Insurance Plan would help take care of the financial needs of your family.

Low Premium- Term Insurance Plans offer no cash value on the investment at the end of/within the maturity period. Hence premium for Term Insurance comes at lower rates when compared to any other life insurance policy. If one taps on the calculation, the premiums charged to get a life cover would not be more than 2% of your annual income.

Flexibility- One of the key features of any term insurance plan is that they offer the flexibility of upgrading your current Term Plan into the Whole Life Policy, without undergoing any additional medical check-up. Similarly, you can choose an Online Term Insurance Plan. Buying an Online Term Insurance Plan is simple and extremely convenient.

Riders- With any offline or online Term Insurance Plan, you can opt for an add-on rider which gives you the chance to increase the number of benefits. Riders are optional, offered to suit your requirements, and come with a nominal cost. You can choose the best-suited rider for critical illness, death due to accidents, partial or permanent disability etc.

Claim Rejection Ratio- The ratio of claims being rejected is very low in case of Term Insurance Policies. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India has made it mandatory to pay the death benefits to the beneficiary in case of demise of the life insured. No insurance company can reject the claim due to non-disclosure of facts after two years from the commencement of the policy.

The critical reasons enlisted above should convince you enough to opt for a term insurance policy. With the help of advantages you get, you can secure your family’s financial future. This will help your family maintain a similar lifestyle. So, make the right choice and buy an online term insurance plan.

What is Term Insurance?

Term Insurance Plan is a type of life insurance that provides an insurance cover for a fixed period of time. Though the policy comes with a fixed term, it offers maximum cover at possibly lesser premiums as compared to other life insurance policies. If the life insured survives the tenure of the policy, no benefits are offered to the policyholder.

Most of the insurance providers offer Term Insurance Policies, furthermore, can be converted into whole life insurance policies irrespective of the health condition of the life insured.

Term Insurance v/s Whole Life Insurance

While both the policies talk about life insurances, there are few points where Term Insurance differs with Whole Life Insurance.

  • There is a fixed tenure for Term Insurance, whereas, Whole Life Policies usually offer a cover till the policyholder reaches the age of 100 years.
  • The most significant difference is about premiums. Term Insurance possesses comparatively lesser premiums than Whole Life Policies.
  • Term Insurance does not offer any additional cash value benefit, whereas Whole Life Insurance does.

Why Term Insurance?

Term Insurance offers several advantages to the life insured that can be enlisted as-

  • Financial Security of the Family: A plan that provides financial security to the dependents of the policyholder after his unfortunate demise.
  • Better Coverage at low premiums: Term plan offers higher returns in comparatively lower premiums. The policyholder has an option to choose his desired sum assured under Term Insurance Policies. Based on your lifestyle and your needs, you can opt for your coverage amount with significantly lower premiums.
  • Low Claim Rejection: Claim rejections are comparatively lower when Term Insurance is concerned.
  • Flexible to buy: Most of the insurance companies offer Term Insurances online as well as offline. You can buy your policy as per your convenience.
  • Flexibility in premium payments: Term Plans offer you several premium payment options based on your convenience. Premiums can be paid on the single, limited or regular basis. Single premium is one-time premium, whereas if you choose limited or regular pay option, you can pay premiums either monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annually.
  • Tax Benefits: By opting for Term Insurance Policy, you are entitled to claim for tax exemptions under sections 80C and 10(10D) of the Income Tax Act.
  • Add-on Benefits: You can opt for a rider if you are looking for an add-on benefit along with your regular Term Insurance Policy. This will increase your premium amount to be paid, but you may avail additional benefits.

Exclusions for Term Insurance Plans

Term Insurance covers several events, but not all. There are some exclusions to this policy, and Term Insurance Policies do not provide cover in such circumstances, like suicide attempts, death due to war, intoxications, and narcotics.

You never know what will happen and when. Term Insurance will help you make your family financially secure even after you. You don’t have to bother about your budget because you’ll get a maximum cover at reasonably low premiums.

Own website with blogger

Are you bored of typical blogger templates and want something new, something interesting and eye catchy? Or even more, are you looking for your own ‘Website’ instead of typical blog?

Yes, it is easily possible. The person who doesn’t have a thorough knowledge of programming can do this! Let’s see how it is done.

Starting with Blogger

A primary requirement for what we are going to make is, you must have an account with Blogger or Wordpress. For our convenience, we’ll take ‘Blogger’ as a platform to setup a new website. Once you are done with a registration on google (Since Blogger is powered by google), you can initiate the further process. After few steps of ‘url confirmation and account setup’, you’ll get to see following dashboard on your screen.

The menu residing at the left contains everything about the blog. Several tabs can be seen in the menu such as Posts, Stats, Comments, and Earnings etc. From these options, we are going to consider only few. Let’s take a look at them.

Posts option makes user able to write the posts which are to be shown in the blog or website. When a post is written and about to be published, the author has to mention the label, under which the post would be shown on the website. Stats, Comments, Earning, Campaigns and Pages are not important to start with a new website, so we are omitting this part.

Before going to Layout option, firstly we will finalize how our site will look alike by clicking on the Theme option. We will directly go to Theme > Customise. On the top-left corner, again a menu will appear as shown in the figure. Here, in the Themes section, you can choose any basic template for your website, because anyway we are going to modify it later. Under the Background option, you can choose a predefined background for your site or you can just upload the image as per the attribution given by blogger. Widths of the various sections of your website can be adjusted under Adjust widths option. Layout option shows what kind of layout is to be shown in the final Website, such as position of sidebar and footer is decided. In the Advanced tab, all the formatting options allow you to change font size, color and style of the font. After completing the formatting, save the settings and come back to the blogger dashboard.

Now, we have to enter the Layout section. Here, you will see a layout diagram of your new blog. We can add few gadgets if required or we can remove the existing gadgets. There are various sections in this layout. We’ll see them one by one.

  • Favicon: This is a small symbol which will appear along with the title of your website at the title bar of web browser.
  • Navbar: Blogger typically provides a navigation bar for the users. This bar can be turned off.
  • Header: This contains the header part of your website. Blogger offers a text Header or an image header or even both. A customized attractive image can be uploaded here.
  • Cross Column (1&2): In this section, the required gadgets can be added. Generally, any website has a menu below the header. So, we’ll add a menu to one of these cross columns. To add menu, go to Add a gadget > Pages. A new applet will appear. In this applet, click on Add external link. Here, ‘Page Title’ is be filled with the word which has to be shown in the menu bar of the website. In the ‘Web address (URL)’ section, type following text http://blogname/search/label/word. Here, ‘blogname’ has to be replaced by the actual blog url and the ‘word’ should be replaced by the label mentioned while writing the post. You remember it? Please refer the Paragraph regarding Post.

• Main: This section has Blog Posts option along with the edit button. User can edit this section whether he wants comments on the posts, date & time of the post and other sharing options or not.
  • Sidebar: As per the user’s requirement, sidebar can be decorated with the help of various gadgets such as User profile, Visitor’s count, Sitemap, other links etc.
  • Footer: By default, Blogger provides its predefined footer. You can change this if you are familiar with few HTML tags. To disable default disclaimer, the attribution widget can be turned off from the page source code.

Husshhh! We have almost done our website. But something is lagging behind. Oh yes, the personal domain! If you don’t want your site to be quoted as ‘something.blogspot.in’, we have a solution on this. There are several domain providing companies like GoDaddy who offer a personal domain for your blog or website. This has a nominal fee of say 500 INR per year. Once we purchase the domain, we just have to follow the norms given by the service provider. In few hours, the domain will get connected to the blog.

Even going ahead, if you are familiar with a basic HTML tags and a graphics designing tool like Adobe Photoshop, you can customize your website with the attractive graphics, image sliders, videos and eye catching buttons. Google anyway provides 15 GB space on their cloud for free of cost. So, why are you waiting for?

* Please visit my website www.kaustubhkasture.in if you are interested in the medieval history. And let me confess that I have made it exactly the same way which I described above in this post. Yeyyy!!!!

Augmented Reality

In today’s era, technology has been emerged so drastically that even after few years, we won’t believe our past! Day by day, newer techniques are introduced and augmented reality is one of them. Computer generated environment is changing our life.

What is ‘Augmented Reality’?

Augmented reality, generally written as AR, is a real time view of the environment whose elements are augmented by simulated sensual responses such as sound, visuals etc. In other words, it is the combination of digital information and real time physical environment, which uses the existing environment in which user is present and overlays new information on the same. With the help of augmented reality, the information about the surrounding of the user turns into interactive state. Information about the surrounding and substances laying in it is superimposed on the real environment. Augmented reality carries out the components of the virtual world into a perceived real world by the user.

What are the necessary components of AR?

A good kind of computer processor, various sensors for relevant tasks to be performed, digital screen or display and input device like camera, microphone etc. is needed to make AR work. Generally, all these computer essentials are integrated in the smartphones.

Displays for the augmented reality can be of any type, such as a head mounted display, Eye-glasses, contact lenses, Handy devices. Sometimes, the AR device recognizes the words spoken by the user and acts according to it, or in other way, device captures the surrounding with the help of camera attached and converts it in the digital format. along with the speech recognition system, a gesture recognition system is there which captures and analyses the user’s gestures and acts accordingly.

What are the various functional areas of AR?

Augmented reality is widely used in architecture and archaeological surveys to visualize the ancient sites as well as to help them restructure considering the assumptions. Similarly, it is used in modern architecture; computer-generated images of a structure can be overlaid into a real time view of a site before the actual construction takes place.

AR is being used as a newer technique of marketing is promotion. When an AR device scans a image which has multiple layers and then activates a video or animated format of the advertising material. AR can help to get product reviews and preview without unpacking it.

AR has tremendous scope in the education. It can drastically change the mindset of students towards the boring subjects by allowing texts, animations, and videos by superimposing them into real time word. AR technology is used in gaming since it has been introduced to us. This technology allows gamer to feel the world of that specific game.

Along with all these examples, AR can be, or may be already being used in the medical, defense, tourism, space and many more areas.

Anti-money laundering in India

The most emerging problem in India is of money laundering. The word Launder itself describes the act of ‘washing out’ something. Whereas, by reading the term ‘Money Laundering’, we get an idea of dirty money being converted into the legitimate assets or the white money. In simple way, it can be described as conversion of black money into the entities. If people get wealthier in terms of money, and if they are not able to justify how did they managed such huge amount from small resources; then they intend to buy new things (or assets), or to convert that money as legal income just to avoid the penalty of confiscation.

It’s an unsaid rule that the amount you are having must be justifiable. There are various sources of ‘dirty money’ such as- extortion aiming anything, drugs flows or any kind of illegal activity like bribe. Now, money-launders need to pretend as the money is not received by any dirty resource. For this, they usually fix up this problem by following steps:

1) Placement: In this, firstly the money launders introduce the cash to the banks or financial institutes.

2) Layering: In this step, the money launders shows some tricks and presents few complex financial transactions to make the money ‘white’.

3) Integration: Finally, launders get illicit money converted into the white money.

These steps depend on the circumstances, whether launder aims to get the returns in terms of money or in terms of any asset.

Up till now, we saw what is money laundering. So, to make control over it, Anti-money laundering takes place. According to the Enforcement Directorate (generally known as ED), tax arrears pertaining to the money laundering is almost 50% of the total arrears. The central authority has been set up for reporting against money laundering and is known as – ‘Financial Intelligence Unit – India’ (FIU-IND). This body is totally independent and reports directly to the finance minister. The FIU-IND receives the financial information, analyses it and disseminates to support anti money laundering.

Hawala Scandal was a famous scam in India. An alternative remittance system takes place in India, such that one can transfer X amount from one location to another, without transferring the actual money (in the physical form of currency).

To prevent the money laundering, the Prevention of Money Laundering Act has been introduced in the year of 2002 in the parliament of India. This act allows the government or the financial institutes to confiscate the assets obtained from money laundering, to prevent and control money laundering and to deal with any other issue connected with money laundering in India.

Due to this act, financial institutes and banks or the other intermediaries must keep all the records of all the transactions describing the nature as well. The act also states that all the information should be furnished whenever and wherever required. Income tax department of India must have to keep records at least for ten years after completion of that transaction. Few amendments are done to this act in 2005 and 2009. By the act, if any person found guilty in money laundering, he is punishable with the imprisonment of 3 to 7 years and can be extended up to 10 years.
